BHC Management Committee Meetings

BHC Annual and Financial Reports and Financial Statements

- Senior Selection Guidelines

Players applying to be selected to a team within BHC (particularly A and Reserve grades) will be required to make every effort to comply with the senior selection policy (currently being finalised, but use this as a guide).

- Junior Selection Guidelines

The Junior Team Handbook provides a framework for selection and development of junior players and addresses large player numbers in teams, player selection when more than one BHC team is entered into a junior grade, subbing into higher grades etc.

Players Code of Conduct

1. Play by the rules and Play for Fun.

2. Never argue with an official.  If you disagree, your team captain is the only player who can clarify decisions with the umpire during play.  IHA feedback forms can be completed (available from the white shed).

3. Control your temper.  Verbal abuse of officials or other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent is not acceptable or permitted in any sport.

4. Work equally hard for yourself and/or your team.  Your team’s performance will benefit, so will you.

5. Be a good sport.  Applaud all good plays whether they are by your team or the opposition.

6. Treat all players, as you would like to be treated.  Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of another player.

7. Co-operate with your coach, teammates and opponents.  Without them there would be no competition.

Spectator Conduct of Conduct

1. Remember people play sport for their enjoyment, not yours.

2. Applaud good performance and efforts from each team.

3. Congratulate all participants on their performance regardless of the games outcome.

4. Respect officials’ decisions and teach players to do the same.

5. Never ridicule or scold a player for making a mistake.  Positive comments are motivational.

6. Condemn the use of violence in any form, be it by spectators, coaches, officials or players.

7. Show respect for your teams opponents.  Without them there would be no game.

8. Encourage players to follow the rules and officials’ decisions.

9. Do not use foul language or harass players, coaches or officials.

BHC Forms, Rules of Association, Insurance, Committee Meetings etc

The discounts listed above are cumulative, up to the value of your family’s full fees.  eg if you are appointed as a coach of two separate teams your families total playing fees reduce by $500

BHCs Volunteer Structure shows how these roles fit together and are coordinated within the club.  If you can think of a role or opportunity where you can add value to BHC and contribute to improving our club—put something on paper and talk to a Management Committee member about it.  If you’d like to nominate for one of these roles  complete your nomination form and send it in to our secretary.

Where do my fees go????

NOTE: $ figures based on 2009 Senior fee

The following chart provides a snapshot of the 2009 Senior Fee breakdown, separated into various IHA / HQ components and BHC expenses.

# Volunteer / fundraising requirements apply on a “family” basis rather than an individual player basis, and are based on the senior most registered player in the family. Table 1 provides guidance on the equivalent fundraising effort

# Players fulfilling an advertised  Functional Role (Table 2) are deemed to have fulfilled the Fundraising / Volunteer requirement and are eligible for the fee discounts advertised in Table 2

Example

A family comprising two senior and one junior players must fundraise / volunteer the equivalent of $120 or pay $100 in addition to their total family’s playing fees .  Alternatively, one of the senior players can carry out a Functional Role advertised in Table 2 to fulfil this requirement (and further reduce their fees).
